I am a Middle Tennessee native, a proud wife, and a mother of one. A product of the CMCSS Grow Your Own Program, I am licensed Middle Grades (6-8) ELA with a Masters in Education-Curriculum and Instruction from York College, and a second Masters in Education- Instructional Practice from Lipscomb University.
I began my journey in the Field of Education as an outside service provider, providing ABA services to clients during the school day. From there I transitioned to an in house ABA position at one of the local private schools, before finally finding my way into CMCSS as an Educational Assistant in the Comprehensive Development Class (CDC).
Both a bibliophile and logophile, I am very excited to help young learners better understand the world around them through the literature that has been created throughout history.

My goals as an English Language Arts instructor are to ignite an appreciation for reading and writing within my students, to demonstrate the importance of and the relationship between both of those facets of literacy, and to help my learners find their voice as writers and their preferences as readers. 

With those goals in mind, I expect each student to:

  • Be present and open to learning
  • Be willing to engage in analytical thought and discussion with peers.
  • Be respectful of other view points
  • Be prepared by completing reading and other prerequisite assignments.
