I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, and as a high school student attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts, majoring in music and creative writing. During my college years, I attended the University of South Alabama where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. I am married to a wonderful man who served his country proudly in the Army. We are blessed with one son who is currently enrolled at Austin Peay University.
