My name is Amanda Mayfield and I am the Enrichment Teacher at ROMS. I have daughter at Belmont University studying Digital Arts & Design & Junior at RHS who is planning to be a Ranger in the Army. I have a B.S. with a focus in psychology and am currently working on my Masters degree in Special education. I have worked with students from pre-k to the college level for over 10 years. I have partnered with TRIAD and Vanderbilt University learning how to best meet the needs of ASD students. I believe it is my duty as an educator to find the best strategies available and thus I am an educational researcher. I am excited to be working with the teachers, parents, and students in any way I can to make this school year the best one yet by helping students not only realize but also reach their own potential!

Here are some resources that are available during our delayed break:

All Tennessee families can sign up NOW for a free subscription to ReadyRosie through September 1, 2020.

Through a partnership with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, families can access ReadyRosie’s Modeled Moments library. Hundreds of short videos available in both English and Spanish, provide families with simple, fun and engaging instructional activities that they can then replicate with their own children and are rooted in learning goals for children on topics such as literacy, early math, health and well-being. These videos help build upon the important work you all do in the classroom.

Parents can easily sign up to receive emails or text messages with curated videos:

Always do your best and every day get a little bit better.

My promise to you....

  1. I promise to care for you like I would want my children cared for in the classroom.
  2. I promise to believe in you and encourage you.
  3. I promise to guide you.
  4. I promise to give you my best even when I don't feel my best.
  5. I promise to be a good example.
