Class Expectations

It is expected that students complete assignments daily. Everything your child needs in class for the day will be written on my board, so students will know what to expect in class for the day.

Students may wish to have the following supplies on hand for math: paper, pencil, a binder, composition notebook.

Students need to complete all work in order to prepare and practice for assessments. It is important that students show their work and all required steps when solving a problem. Please check with your child each day to see if classwork and homework is completed. Typically, classwork not completed will be their homework.

Grading

Grades can be found in PowerSchool. Student grades are not in PLP. Grades in PowerSchool are weighted this year. There are two categories for grades.  

Assessments: At the conclusion of each unit, students will have a unit test. These assessments will count 70% of your child’s final grade.

Practice: This category includes work in class, quizzes, Skill Practice worksheets, homework and performance-based tasks. This category will count 30% of your child’s final grade. There will be a penalty for late homework and work will not be accepted if more than three days late.
